Dress Code and Guidelines

General Guidelines

Class Placement:
Dancers are placed in classes based on experience, skill level, and maturity (not primarily based on age) to ensure a safe progression of technical training. Each level includes a range of ages, and dancers typically spend at least 2-3 years in each level. Dancers are placed based on the recommendations of our experienced instructors, and placement may change during the year. We strive to provide each individual dancer with the best possible skill-building, enjoyment, and overall educational experience.

Schedule and Attendance:
Timely and consistent attendance is the most important step to learn, progress, and grow as a dancer. Please make every effort to attend class each week and arrive on time. If you must miss a class, please email us at info@thenoda.com. Dancers who miss more than 4 classes after January 31st may not be permitted to perform in the recital.

School Calendar:
Please see our Calendar for our full school year schedule of events and holiday breaks.

Communications:
We will communicate with you by email with important dance school or recital updates, and in the event of emergencies or class cancellations. Emails will be sent from info@thenoda.com to the parent’s email address provided at registration. You can also follow us on social media for behind-the-scenes photos and fun!

Recital Guidelines

-Our spring recital is an exciting chance for parents and friends to see the culmination of a year of hard work and progress. Performing is an integral part of dance education, and instills confidence, pride, and self-esteem. The production is held in the spring in a professional theater, and all children in regular weekly dance classes perform on stage. The high-quality costumes are age-appropriate, modest yet fun, and ordered for you. Our goal is to provide both dancers and audience members an enjoyable, elegant, and family-friendly experience from start to finish.
-Costume fees and recital fees are billed in November and January. Each family receives 2 free recital tickets and a free recital video.
-Attendance at the dress rehearsal and recital are mandatory for all registered dancers.
-Photography/videography is strictly prohibited during the performance. We kindly request that audience members do not use cell phones in any capacity during the performance (the lights from phones are distracting to the dancers and to fellow audience members). Each family will receive a complimentary, professionally-recorded video of the recital. Please put away your phone, sit back, and enjoy the show!
-We email all important recital-related information from info@thenoda.com. Please be sure to monitor your email to make sure you receive important communications.
